Welcome to Crumpled and Rumpled.
My name is Judith Laird and I have been making miniature character people for dolls houses for five years.
I specialize in making character figures from photographs, perhaps you would like a relative or friend to reside in your dolls house. Just supply good clear photographs and a brief description of how you would like them to be dressed, and the period in time you wish them to be living in. Alternatively please browse around my website, where I am sure you will see someone you know.
All my little people (as I like to call them) are one of a kind and made from polymer clay, after preparation they are then fired in the oven and painted. Care and dedication to detail goes into every figure, then they are dressed authentically as possible in silk, cotton, antique lace and old cloth. All my little people are 1/12 scale and can site or stand.
If you should see a character doll that you like the look of and it has already been sold, its possible for me to make another figure with similar characteristics, but they will be dressed perhaps in different colours.
I attend a number of shows a year in the UK, Alexander Palace, Miniatura Spring and Autumn Fairs at the NEC Birmingham and Kensington Dolls House Festival. During the rest of the year ,my little people are available by mail order from my catalogue (£3.00) or my website.
Please allow 3 to 6 months from receipt of commissions until completion, I require a £15.00 deposit or full payment. I ship worldwide, payments can be made via paypal or sterling cheque.
